On the 20th February, the CEO of the Gozo Business Chamber Daniel Borg,  spoke during a webinar on ‘Manufacturing in Gozo’ organised by the Gozo Regional Development Authority. His intervention focused on how manufacturers in Gozo can adapt for success amid rising uncertainty.

In this context Daniel Borg remarked about:

the need to invest in planning and logistics;

the food and beverages manufacturing sector still has  significant potential for Gozo;

the need to educate manufacturing enterprises on the ESG  criteria;

that new technologies such as additive manufacturing are possible for Gozo. However, there needs to be renewed effort  to go beyond the low skills equilibrium trap currently faced by  Gozo, and also to have incentives to attract people with the right skills to Gozo.

There needs to be a collective effort, and a regional economic policy with a clear direction and targeted incentives is required.
