On the 8th of November 2023, Daniel Borg, CEO of the Gozo Business Chamber, took part in one of the panels at the annual event on Malta’s Recovery and Resilience Plan.
During the panel on ‘Accessing EU funds for SMEs’ Daniel Borg, CEO of the Gozo Business Chamber, spoke about the reality of the island of Gozo. He mentioned how important projects in the private sector would not have been implemented were it not for EU funding. Daniel Borg highlighted the need of a regional analysis of the needs for business, in order to be able to formulate schemes which really tackle their needs. Within the context of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), he commented about the need to take into consideration the whole picture. While the assistance being provided under this facility is proving useful in the shift towards electric mobility, this needs to go hand in hand with the investment in the energy infrastructure in Gozo. He concluded by saying that the RRF facility provides important opportunities for Gozo to reach its target of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
