On Friday 21st May the Gozo Business Chamber organised a webinar in collaboration with Bank of Valletta, Malta Enterprise, and the Ministry for Energy, Enterprise, and Sustainable Development entitled: ‘Regenerating the Economy: A Business Webinar on the New Malta Enterprise Schemes’.
On the 27thApril 2021, a set of new measures and initiatives were announced by the Government to regenerate the Maltese economy. These included: (a) a renewed rent and electricity scheme; (b) a one-time grant for businesses that will remain closed after the 10th May 2021; (c) Change To Grow 2021; (d) Restart Incentive scheme 2021; (e) Smart and Sustainable Investment scheme 2021; and (f) Micro-Invest Tax Credit Extension.
The key speaker for the event was Kurt Farrugia, CEO of Malta Enterprise, who presented the new schemes. Kurt Farrugia highlighted that further details on the schemes will be provided once the guidelines for the said schemes will be published.
Other panelists on the event included Hon Miriam Dalli, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Sustainable Development, Mark Scicluna Bartoli, Executive – Product Management & Development Bank of Valletta, and Steve Ellul, Advisor within the Ministry for Energy, Enterprise, and Sustainable Development.
