Webinar: Innovatively Financing Green Energy Investments
On Thursday 8th July, the Gozo Business Chamber organised a webinar in collaboration with Bank of Valletta, entitled: ‘Innovatively Financing Green Energy Investments’.
This webinar provided information on the three BOV Energy Loans being offered by Bank of Valletta for both personal and business customers to finance renewable and energy efficiency solutions.
- The BOV Personal Energy Loan is targeting that customer who is seeking a small investment up to a maximum of €50,000 which can be provided on an unsecured basis.
- The BOV Home Energy Loan is targeting a home owner / buyer who can seek financing up to €100,000 to finance PV panels, solar water collectors, space heating and cooling, as well as numerous measures including insulation solutions and EV charging stations.
- The BOV Business Energy Loan is available to SMEs and Mid-Caps and provides financing not only to energy efficiency solutions but also considers other investments such as electric / hybrid car fleets and water efficiency measures.
All three energy loans benefit from a guarantee offered by the European Union and the Government of Malta permitting the Bank to provide an attractive interest rate and collateral terms. Over and above, the loans benefit from a 2% interest rate subsidy for the first three years which will contribute toward improving the payback of your green investment.

Michel Ganado is a partner in the PwC Advisory practice and is the Consulting Leader with over 30 years’ experience in managing comprehensive management consulting assignments and developing the firm’s capability on EU and public sector matters.
Patrick Spiteri Staines has over 12 years of experience in the energy sector and is an expert on a range of topics including sustainable energy in the built environment, energy conversion processes, energy regulations, policy and economics, energy processes in buildings, renewable energy technologies, project development and renewable energy resources.
Roman Dojcak is an Investment Platform Advisor in the EIB Advisory Services with a track record in consulting financial institutions on the implementation of financial instruments, with an emphasis on climate action related financing.
