Starting up a business, running it and ensuring its continued success is no easy feat, particularly if you are based on a small island where insularity and regionality are two of the biggest hurdles to the smooth running of your operation. The Gozo Business Chamber was established to support both individual businesses and the wider Gozitan business community in overcoming such challenges through education, information, representation and mediation, while working towards maintaining a sound commercial environment.

EDUCATION

The saying goes that knowledge is power. The Gozo Business Chamber is a firm believer in empowering business owners by giving them educational opportunities in the form of conference attendance, webinars and regular training, and keeping them informed on a host of matters that are crucial to the wellbeing of their business.

The Chamber also organises events that are geared towards youths, with the aim of fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship among this segment of the Gozitan society which has so much to offer.

INFORMATION

Keeping abreast of matters such as the introduction of new incentives, changes in the legislation and the impact of international events on a business can be extremely daunting and time consuming for an owner, particularly when the information is not easily accessible. Just imagine what repercussions not knowing of a change in the law regulating your industry could have on your business and its reputation!

The Gozo Business Chamber has taken it upon itself to collect important information from different government entities and other sources, ensuring that this is relayed to its members. If you haven’t become a member yet, fill in the membership form here to start receiving important updates straight in your inbox.

REPRESENTATION AND MEDIATION

How do you ensure that your business concerns are raised in fora that really matter? By becoming a member of the Gozo Business Chamber, of course! The Gozo Business Chamber engages with its members regularly to keep a finger on the pulse of the Gozitan business community, ensuring that matters that are affecting this community, including transportation and accessibility, are discussed within fora such as Parliament’s Standing Committee on Gozo Affairs.

Moreover, the positions of the Gozo Business Chamber on an array of topics, which are forwarded to the government for its consideration, are always formulated following consultations with its members, in order to ensure that their opinions are properly represented at the highest levels of decision-making. The Chamber also acts as a mediator between its members and government entities, supporting Gozitan businesses in resolving issues or tackling problems efficiently.
