The Gozo Business Chamber participated in a meeting with European Commissioner, Michael McGrath at Europe House in Valletta on 25 June 2026. The Chamber was represented by President, Michael Galea and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Borg.

The meeting brought together representatives of Malta’s main business organisations to discuss European Commission initiatives aimed at simplifying the business environment, supporting digitalisation and reducing administrative burdens.

During the discussion, the Chamber highlighted its work to support the diversification of Gozo’s economy and stressed that European initiatives concerning company formation, entrepreneurship and start-ups should take account of the specific realities faced by businesses operating from island regions.

The Chamber also underlined the importance of ensuring that areas such as Gozo, where the start-up ecosystem is still developing, are not placed at a disadvantage when new European business frameworks are introduced.

The Gozo Business Chamber will continue to engage with European institutions to promote policies that support competitiveness, innovation and sustainable economic development in Gozo.
