This week the Gozo Business Chamber submitted two responses to two important Consultation documents issued by the Government.  The two consultation documents  referred are the: (1) ‘Malta Low Carbon Development Strategy’;  and the (2) ‘Green Paper ‘Towards Cleaner Vehicles on our Roads’.

The first consultation document targeted actions being formulated by the Government to align Malta to the European Commission’s objective of achieving carbon neutrality prior to the set target of 2050.  The second consultation document examined a number of features primarily: (a) a cut-off date  for the importation of L4, M15 or N16 running on an internal combustion engine; (b) the charging infrastructure expansion; (c) improving air quality; (d) certified technical people; and (e) incentives and disincentives that can be introduced.
