On 19 February 2026, representatives of the Gozo Business Chamber held a meeting with Daniel Attard to discuss matters of strategic importance to Gozo.
The meeting focused primarily on accessibility and transport – two key areas that are fundamental to Gozo’s economic sustainability and social cohesion, and which fall within the MEP’s areas of responsibility at European level.
Discussions addressed both commuter and passenger transport between Gozo and Malta, highlighting the daily realities faced by workers, students and families who depend on reliable connectivity. The Chamber also emphasised the importance of efficient and resilient transport systems for businesses, particularly those engaged in import and export activities, where reliability, timing and cost efficiency are critical factors.
The exchange formed part of the Chamber’s ongoing dialogue with national and European representatives to ensure that Gozo’s specific regional realities are adequately reflected in policy discussions and future strategic planning.
The Gozo Business Chamber looks forward to continued engagement on these important issues in the interest of strengthening Gozo’s long-term economic resilience and connectivity.
