GBC President Joseph Borg, Vice President Michael Galea, and CEO Daniel Borg participated in a workshop organised by INSULEUR on ‘Marine Spatial Planning as a tool to boost and support “Blue” entrepreneurship in Islands’ in partnership with the European Economic and Social Committee and in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence on Blue Growth – Shipping – Marine Environment – Insularity of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens  (NKUA).

In his welcoming speech, Joseph Borg, highlighted that “we cannot speak of blue growth, and with the opportunities linked to the sea, if we do not plan ahead of what we require of our coastal regions.” Joseph Borg, signed also a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, and INSULEUR.

Daniel Borg, delivered a presentation on maritime spatial planning from an insular Chamber ‘s perspective. He highlighted that “Maritime spatial planning is important. However, this must be seen within the context of what we want to achieve.”
