On the 9th of October, Daniel Borg, CEO of the Gozo Business Chamber, participated in a conference organised by the Malta Employers Association titled Adapting our Labour Market to an Ageing Population.
During his intervention, DanielBorg provided key insights from a regional perspective, stressing the need for a multifaceted approach to address the challenges posed by an ageing population. He emphasized that any solutions should take into account regional needs and circumstances.
Daniel Borg advocated for the introduction of specific incentives to encourage elderly individuals to remain active in the workforce. He highlighted the importance of fostering a workplace environment that is accommodating to the elderly, both from a physical and social standpoint. Furthermore, he underscored the necessity of facilitating the transition of elderly workers into less physically demanding roles and sectors.
