Joseph Borg, Michael Galea and Daniel Borg are currently participating, on behalf of INSULEUR and the Gozo Business Chamber in the GTI Observatory Summit, which is taking place in the island of the Gran Canaria.  The Summit addresses the transition of islands to more sustainable forms of energy and sees the participation of the Island Advisory Committee and the Strategic Advisory Committee. On the first day, which took place at the Instituto Tecnologiceo de Canarias, a discussion on the role of these two committees was held.  In his intervention Joseph  Borg highlighted the importance of local companies and the deployment of renewables.  He commented that businesses need to be involved from the start with the development of the strategy itself.  Daniel Borg also remarked that the role of these committees should also take into consideration the policy outcome, and how their work will be affecting the policies that are being adopted at a national and supranational level.  The discussions were followed by different site visits.
