The Gozo Business Chamber collaborated in the CSMS 2025 – Concrete Sustainability: Materials & Structures Workshop, which was held on Monday, 15 December 2025, at the Cittadella, Victoria, Gozo.

The workshop formed part of the international CSMS 2025 initiative, organised by the University of Malta, and focused on advancements in sustainable construction, with particular emphasis on low-carbon concrete technologies, high-performance materials, and innovative construction practices. The event brought together academics, industry professionals, and key stakeholders to discuss how research and innovation can contribute towards a more sustainable built environment.

During the opening session, the Gozo Business Chamber was represented by its Vice President, Perit Edward Scerri, who delivered an intervention highlighting the Chamber’s ongoing commitment towards the education and continuous professional development of its members, as well as its support for initiatives that promote sustainability, innovation, and practical application within Gozo’s business and construction sectors.

A special acknowledgement is due to Professor Ruben Paul Borg, Chair of CSMS 2025 at the University of Malta, whose vision and leadership were instrumental in bringing this workshop to Gozo. His efforts in fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and institutions played a central role in the successful organisation of this initiative.

The programme also featured keynote lectures by Professor Kamal Khayat, a globally recognised expert in concrete technology, who shared insights on self-consolidating concrete, high-performance concrete applications, and advances in low-carbon concrete solutions.

The Gozo Business Chamber thanks the University of Malta, all partners involved, and participants for contributing to a meaningful exchange of knowledge. Such initiatives align with the Chamber’s mission to support sustainable economic development and encourage innovation within Gozo’s business community.
