Gozo Back Office Employment Refund Scheme
On Tuesday the Ministry for Gozo launched the Gozo Back Office Employment Refund Scheme. Further information on the scheme can be found here. The Gozo Back Office Employment Refund Scheme will provide aid to Employers, in the form of partial reimbursement of salaries for full-time work, on a minimum three-year contract in a) either of newly employed staff as from 1st January 2020, carrying out back office operations based in Gozo or b) staff already employed with the undertaking but, as from 1st January 2020, carrying out back office operations based in Gozo. The Gozo Back Office Employment Refund Scheme is one of 5 schemes that will be funded out of a budget of €1,000,000. Back-office operations refer to administrative and technical support work of a business that is not client facing. If applying under the Gozo Back Office Employment Refund Scheme the Employer cannot apply under the New Employment Refund Scheme. A number of conditions apply.
